When you buy potatoes, onions, or other vegetables in a store today, they’re often displayed in cabinets with open shelves. Inside these cabinets, there’s typically a large box filled with vegetables that can be lifted from the floor so that the top of the box aligns with the shelf for easy access and display.

Vegetable Lift
When you buy potatoes, onions, or other vegetables in a store today, they’re often displayed in cabinets with open shelves. Inside these cabinets, there’s typically a large box filled with vegetables that can be lifted from the floor so that the top of the box aligns with the shelf for easy access and display.
What we’re looking for:
Research – Visit different stores to study existing setups and identify solutions that could work across several formats. Explore various lift mechanisms that could be applied—are there alternative mechanical or lever-based systems that might work? How much lift is needed? Should the shelf height be adjusted?
Construction – Design and build a vegetable display module with a lifting mechanism that raises the vegetables to the optimal display height.
The main focus is on developing the lift mechanism itself and understanding how it can be integrated into the full module, including cladding and installation.
